Job Description

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will dive in, helping to promote our company in an effort to build our brand and reach a wider audience.

Reports to:

Managing Director, The Majestic Theatre

Hours of work:

40 hours weekly, flexible (evening and weekend work as required). The position is an in-office role located in St John's, NL.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for all marketing and publicity activities involving M.O.T.H. Recording Studio and The Majestic Theatre. The person in this role will promote the work and events of The Majestic Theatre, Theatre Hill Bar + Cafe and M.O.T.H Recordings through its social channels, website management. This is a full-time salaried position.

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Daily marketing responsibilities including social channels, website updates.

Social Media Management;

Digital Media Marketing;

Newsletter writing and scheduling for all business activities;

Marketing planning for The Majestic Theatre, Theatre Hill Bar & Cafe and M.O.T.H. Recordings;

Website edits and updates (through its WordPress CMS);

Work collaboratively with outside contractors and consultants to execute marketing & communications strategy.

Event Management

Conceive of fun and exciting ways to engage the public

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in Marketing or relevant field;

5+ years of experience in Marketing & Communications;

A portfolio will be requested during the interview process;

Design experience (professional design software);

Automated email marketing experience (Mailchimp or other);

Experience with content creation;

Understanding of marketing trends and opportunities;

Ability to learn The Majestic Theatre's ticketing platform (Spektrix) and assist in ticketing and related marketing services;

Community relationships;

Budgeting and planning experience;

Professional accountability;

Excellent attention to detail.

Salary & Benefits:

$60,000-$70,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience. Based on 40 hours weekly (weekend and evening work will be required).

Health & Dental benefits after a 3-month probation period.
