The Position: Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Intern)

Type: Full-time, Fixed-term Contract (6 months)

Location: CAWST is based in Calgary, Alberta

Compensation: Hourly, $20.00 CAD per hour

Closing Date: Wednesday April 12, 2023

Position Summary

CAWST is an international development organization with a focus on Sustainable Development Goal 6 - water and sanitation for all - and we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an organized, reliable, and passionate self-starter to support our Marketing & Communications team.

You will play a key role in reaching our global audience, sharing information about CAWST services and encouraging engagement with our Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS) Network. You will also support the team to increase awareness about CAWST and our cause.

In this role you will:

  • Execute, measure, and report on strategic marketing plans
  • Support the marketing team with research to identify opportunities and support team decisions about how to reach our targets
  • Contribute to content creation for various channels, including all our social media platforms
  • Support marketing processes and project coordination
  • Support all things data - metrics, analytics, email lists and more

We are looking for someone who is ready to dive in, learn, and get things done! We are not expecting you to be an expert in all areas of the role, but we do expect you to be accountable, resourceful, and committed to self-driven, on-the-job learning.

Candidates must be available to work from our Calgary office for at least four days per week (Monday to Thursday), with potential flexibility to work from home on Fridays (task dependent). Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required for events in Calgary, and some Fridays may be required in the office/on-location elsewhere.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position (6 months). Candidates must be located in Calgary for the entirety of this contract, and must be eligible to work in Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Creating and publishing multi-channel content for the HWTS Network
  • Monitoring and responding to incoming HWTS activity
  • Creating visual, written and video content for CAWST\xe2\x80\x99s social channels
  • Collecting and sharing insights around successful social content, and providing recommendations to improve our channels
  • Supporting on posting and community management on CAWST\xe2\x80\x99s social channels
  • Setting up email campaigns
  • Reviewing and cleaning data
  • Gathering performance metrics and updating Marketing dashboards
  • Delivering on tactics relating to our strategic Marketing plans
  • Assisting with coordination and execution of events when necessary
  • Attending regular team meetings and one-on-one meetings with your supervisor
  • Supporting the wider Marketing & Communications team as required
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications

Education
  • This position is open to all education levels and areas of study. However, preference may be given to those with an educational and/or professional background in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Desired Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Experience with social media content creation, campaigns, and management
  • Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft D365 is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence and creativity in problem solving
  • Consistent attention to detail and pride in ensuring nothing gets missed
  • Proven ability to be an engaged, effective team player
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to take initiative
  • Passion for CAWST and our cause; what we do, and how we do it
  • Drive to constantly learn new information, find answers, and share solutions
  • Flexibility to pivot and adapt to dynamic modalities and targets
  • Fluency in French or Spanish is an asset, but not required
