Who We Are:The Det'on Cho Group of Companies is an investment company with 26 diverse companies, including 9 wholly owned subsidiaries and 17 joint venture partners serving our customers in the Northwest Territories and beyond.What you will doReporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Marketing & Communications Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and community engagement initiatives for Deton Cho Management LP (Deton Cho) and its wholly-owned subsidiaries.A Day in the LifeYour job duties include:

  • Execute marketing and communication campaigns for Det'on Cho's services, reinforcing its mission, brand attributes, and community impact
  • Create compelling, informative, audience-centric marketing and communications materials, including reports, corporate profiles, presentations, brochures, proposals, media releases, videos, advertising copy, digital content, signage, etc.
  • Implement digital media strategy for Deton Cho and its subsidiaries
  • Deliverables include content creation, uploading, and monitoring for corporate websites and social media platforms
  • Assist in the research, development, execution, and measurement of the effectiveness of integrated marketing and communications efforts for internal and external audiences (including shareholders, clients, joint-venture partners, governments, employees, and the community)
  • Implement and maintain branding programs across all wholly-owned subsidiaries
  • Coordinate, execute, and participate in trade shows and other industry events. Minimal travel is required
  • Coordinate, execute, and participate in community engagement events, including community meetings, gatherings, and on-going formal and informal touchpoints with community members
  • Support the planning, scripting, and coordination of video projects to ensure high-quality content
  • Collect and analyze market research and trends to inform Deton Chos communications plan
  • Ensure all materials conform to brand identity
  • Additional duties as required
What You Bring
  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline plus 3+ years of experience in a communications or marketing role, including agency or in-house corporate experience OR 6+ years of experience in a communications or marketing role, including agency or in-house corporate experience
  • Exemplary writing, proof-reading, and editing skills with a proven ability to generate original content
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, web analytics, and various social media applications
  • Strong graphic design and photography skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Public relations skills
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be accepted.
  • Familiarity with Yellowknives Dene language, culture and way of life would be considered assets.
