Job Description




Our Marketing Cloud team is looking for a talented Automation Specialist with Email Development experience to join OMERS Products & Technology group as a Marketing Cloud Automation and Email Developer. This person will aid in the development and delivery of journeys, automations, and emails designed to increase our member satisfaction and streamline business functions.

In this role, you will work with a team that creates and maintains superb personalized experiences for our approximately 1000 employers and 500,000 members. You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the planning and creation of new automation processes to provide strategic messaging on a recurring, triggered, and ad-hoc basis
  • Executing delivery plans by coding and supporting QA testing on journey/automation roadmaps
  • Creation of dynamic email messaging that iterates multiple versions based on automation/journey data parameters (AMPScript and Data Extensions)
  • Creation of CloudPages as landing pages for unsubscribes, form submissions, etc
  • Understand the data points needed for proper automation and email execution, and also available data that can be used in future projects
  • Provide support to the team\xe2\x80\x99s Email Developer on an ad-hoc basis with complex projects and/or tight timelines
  • Supporting Marketing Cloud development projects \xe2\x80\x93 prioritizing, estimating and delivering automations, journeys, email campaigns and reminders in partnership with our business partners
  • Work as a subject matter expert to advise stakeholders on both the capabilities and limitations of Marketing Cloud software
  • Acting as a knowledgeable liaison between technical teams and business partners
  • Awareness of and staying informed about the latest technology trends in areas of automation and email development, with a focus on how they can be leveraged to OMERS\xe2\x80\x99 advantage
To succeed in this role, you:

Must have:
  • 2 years proven track-record working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Cloud Pages, and Email Studio; or 3 years if in an equivalent program (Adobe Campaign, Acoustic, Eloqua, etc)
  • Basic SQL (Ability to read and manipulate existing code - advanced knowledge and ability to create new queries considered an huge asset)
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS and AMPscript (or equivalent) for responsive CloudPage and Email building
  • Knowledge of Synchronized Data Sources in Contact Builder
  • Working knowledge of data extensions, and import/export functionality in Contact Builder and Email Studio
  • Experience in developing and implementing relevant testing strategies for operational tasks
  • Understanding of CASL requirements
  • Understanding of email deliverability practices. Defining deployment strategies and historical list hygiene to best design deployment segments
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, leadership skills and communications skills
Would be at an advantage with:
  • Working knowledge of SSJS and APIs
  • Experience with FTP Clients
  • Knowledge in multi-business unit configurations and multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of the use of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Connector.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications or equivalent
  • Experience using Agile methodology
