The role we are offering you:

The CAE Civil Marketing and Strategy team is looking for a Financial Analyst to bring in rigor and financial discipline in managing a 10M CAD budget across the marketing department.

Your mission will be to track, monitor and report on all spend activity within marketing to ensure accurate forecast to budget.

You will work with the Marketing, Finance, Global Strategic Sourcing, Accounts Payables teams within CAE as well as external vendors in ensuring a proper financial governance is in place for timely payments, accruals and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Integrated Marketing & New Adjacencies, Civil Aviation Training Solutions:

• Works closely with Managers within Marketing (Events & Marketing Operations, Brand & Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, Market Strategy) to gain a clear understanding of budget breakdown, spend patterns, vendors, invoicing & payment terms towards a better budget management process.
• Has overall responsibility for the tracking, reporting and financial governance of all spend activity within marketing.
• Responsible for preparing and sending Purchase Order (PO) requests to Global Strategic Sourcing on behalf of Marketing; Ensures all PO requests are properly supported by signed Statements of Work from the respective managers; Tracks approvals to ensure on-time PO placement.
• Works closely with Accounts Payables to ensure on-time payment to vendors.
• Works closely with Global Strategic Sourcing to track marketing vendor contracts and ensure renewals take place on-time
• Ensures all relevant invoices from vendors are properly categorized across each marketing sub-group
• Obtains all relevant accesses (Ariba, PowerBI, Vendor Approval Portals etc) and prepares a cost profile for all marketing spend activity.
• Defends budget recommendations and developing a final budgetary agreement with management.
• Monitors spending to ensure it remains within budget.
• Estimates and forecasts future financial need and supports the marketing team with financial analytics.
• Leads monthly financial governance and reporting with the Marketing leadership team and Finance
• Undertakes workshops with Marketing Managers, Finance, Global Strategic Sourcing, Accounts Payable to establish a robust budget, forecasting and spend tracking process
• Highly organized, the financial analyst maintains all relevant records (Signed Contracts, SOWs, POs, Invoices) on all marketing spend activity and presents supporting data for Budget Actuals and future spend
• Forecasts and tracks financial results throughout the year to meet budget projections.
• Organizes budget templates and data in a clear and intuitive manner.
• Provides Marketing spend summary status reports to management on a monthly bases and as required or requested.

Our ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Financial Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as financial analyst / managing budgets
• Experience in aviation industry a plus.
