We're looking for a creative and organized
Marketing Assistant
to help us grow our reach across Ontario -- focusing on
schools, corporations, and community events
.
Role Overview
You'll work directly with the owner to bring our marketing plan to life. This is a hands-on role where you'll help increase visibility, engagement, and bookings for our shows through social media, content creation, and online advertising.
This position is ideal for a
marketing, communications, or digital media student/recent graduate
who wants practical experience with a fun, creative small business.
Responsibilities
Social Media Management
Create and schedule engaging posts for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Edit and upload short video clips (Reels/YouTube Shorts/TikTok).
Respond to comments, messages, and mentions.
Content Creation & Strategy
Organize photos and video clips from live events.
Write captions, hashtags, and short copy aligned with our brand voice (professional, playful, positive).
Brainstorm and develop campaigns for specific seasons (e.g., corporate holiday shows, school anti-bullying tours, summer festivals).
Advertising & Outreach Support
Assist in creating and monitoring basic Google Ads or Meta Ads campaigns.
Help design email outreach templates for schools, HR departments, and event coordinators.
Track metrics and summarize performance reports.
Qualifications
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related program.
Strong writing and organizational skills.
Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Comfortable with basic photo/video editing (Adobe Premiere, Canva, CapCut, or similar).
Enthusiastic, dependable, and able to work independently.
Nice to Have (but Not Required)
Experience running social media accounts or small business marketing.
Familiarity with Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager.
Interest in entertainment, education, or family events.
Schedule & Work Style
Approximately
8-10 hours per week
, flexible around your schedule.
Most work can be done remotely, with occasional in-person collaboration for content creation (in or near Kitchener-Waterloo).
Ideal for a co-op term, internship credit, or short-term contract.
