Position Overview:
We are seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of marketing experience, a strong understanding of social media, analytics, and the marine industry. This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution to enhance our brand presence, engage our audience, and drive growth.
The successful candidate will be based in Penetanguishene but will support all Hindson Group of Marina locations (Penetanguishene, Parry Sound and Britt locations).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, create, and manage engaging content for social media platforms, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.
Manage and update company website content using WordPress.
Respond to and follow up with all customer website inquiries via phone or email in a timely manner
Coordinate and produce marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and promotional content.
Send promotional "blasts" and communication to current customers
Assist with the planning, organizing, and execution of special events, trade shows, and campaigns to enhance brand visibility.
Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and campaign effectiveness.
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer demographics, and opportunities for growth in the marine industry.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative marketing strategies and make recommendations based on social demographics and market data.
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and emerging marketing tools and platforms.
Follow all Marina policies and procedures (e.g., health and safety, environmental, time off)
Strive to meet Marina's customer service standards
Perform other duties as assigned by your manager or delegate
Software & Tools:
WordPress - website content management
Google Analytics - website and campaign performance tracking
Social Media Management Tools: Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social
Email Marketing Platforms: HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar
Excel / Google Sheets - reporting, data analysis, and visualization
Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
Qualifications:
Post secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing and sales
Experience in the boating industry an asset
Strong proficiency in social media advertising and management and analytics tools
Experience in WordPress or equivalent.
Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google AdWords,and email marketing software.
Strong proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and brand consistency.
Experience in event planning, production of marketing collateral, and project coordination.
Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable marketing strategies.
Creative mindset with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of nautical terminology or the ability to learn quickly is an asset
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must work well as a team and individually in a professional manor.
Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
Must be available to work flexible hours Monday to Friday, including weekends and public holidays (for the purpose of supporting events)
