Marketing and Program Development Manager



Craig's Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society is a national charity dedicated to

increasing survival and improving the quality of life for every Canadian diagnosed

with pancreatic cancer through public awareness, patient support, healthcare

education, and research.

Reports To: The Marketing and Program Development Manager reports to the

Founder/Director and works closely with the Executive Assistant.

Job Overview:

The Marketing and Program Development Manager plays a critical

leadership role in advancing Craig's Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society's four pillars:

Public Awareness, Patient Support, Healthcare Education, and Research.

This role combines strategic marketing and communications leadership with

national program and event development, including the oversight of the Kicking

PancreAS(TM) 5K events across Canada. The position ensures cohesive branding,

strong community engagement, successful partnerships, and impactful program

delivery that aligns with the organization's three-year strategic plan.

Organizational & Strategic Leadership

? Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive national marketing,

communications operational plan.

? Recommend short- and long-term goals aligned with the organization's

three-year strategic plan, within the yearly operational plans.

? Develop and manage marketing, communications, and program budgets

with accurate tracking.

? Act as strategic lead for marketing, communications, advertising, and

national event initiatives.

? Ensure consistency and elevation of the Craig's Cause Pancreatic Cancer

Society brand across all platforms and programs.

? Oversee planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of national

programs and events, including the Kicking PancreAS(TM) 5K (currently 13

events).

Communications & Brand Management



? Facilitate clear, consistent internal and external communications.

? Ensure mission, vision, and values are embedded across all messaging and

programs.

? Serve as organizational liaison to national, provincial, and local media.

? Act as spokesperson when required, prepared with key messaging, facts, and

statistics.

? Develop and maintain media relationships to increase awareness and

coverage.

? Collect and support safe, respectful sharing of national and community

stories.

? Respond to social media and public inquiries in a timely and professional

manner.

Marketing & Digital Strategy



? Oversee production and dissemination of all marketing, communications,

and promotional materials.

? Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing campaigns for programs,

events, and donor engagement.

? Monitor social media performance and trends; adjust strategies accordingly.

? Manage consistent branding across graphics, print materials, newsletters,

campaigns, and digital platforms.

? Increase engagement across social platforms including Facebook, Instagram,

Twitter/X, and LinkedIn.

Program & Event Development (Kicking PancreAS(TM) 5K)



? Lead national planning and execution of Kicking PancreAS(TM) 5K events, with

the support of the Executive Assistant and Marketing and Communication

Coop Students.

? Coordinate with local event leads, volunteers, ambassadors, and community

partners.

? Develop partnerships with cancer centres and healthcare organizations

across Canada.

? Secure and steward local and national sponsors and media partnerships.

? Ensure events deliver strong community impact, awareness, and financial

sustainability.

Qualifications: Education



? Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, media studies, event

management, recreation, or a related field.

Experience



? 5+ years experience in marketing and communications.

? 3-5 years experience in program or event management (preferably

nonprofit or run/walk events).

? Experience working in the nonprofit or charity sector.

? Leadership experience managing projects, volunteers, or small teams.

? Experience with sponsorship development and partner relations.

? Proficient computer and digital marketing skills.

? Demonstrated success growing social media engagement.

Position Details



? Workplace: Home office; national travel required

? Hours: 20-40 hours per week (with opportunity to transition to full-time

following a 6-month trial)

? Salary: $27-$30 per hour (full-time, based on experience)Job Overview
