Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Senior Manager, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will play a key role in the planning, coordination and execution of Multiplex's marketing and communications strategy across all internal and external platforms. They will oversee content, marketing and events, and identify and track opportunities to position the corporate brand in line with the communications strategy, media protocol and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Communications
Prepare and manage internal and external communications calendar
Frequent social media posts, managing social monitoring and analytics and providing ongoing recommendations on how to optimize communications and engagement
Copywriting and copyediting aligned with corporate tone of voice and brand positioning for all internal and external platforms
Support the execution of strategic business initiatives and imperatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as required
Maintain and update corporate intranet and website
Create and update library of marketing materials and presentations
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers to effectively manage projects, approvals, deadlines and budgets from concept to completion
Manage digital communications content, including regular videos and photo stories of Multiplex's people and projects, and overseeing service providers as required
Regularly visit all project sites to engage with teams, generate content ideas, and capture videos and photos to support communications content
Support with internal and external brand awareness, ensuring the Multiplex brand is consistent across all touchpoints
Identify and assess thought leadership and promotional opportunities, and make recommendations that would support Multiplex's narrative and priorities
Support with community engagement initiatives on Multiplex projects
Document and visual asset management and organization
Assist with ad hoc requests for information.
Marketing and Events
Develop and manage compelling content and creative assets for digital and print channels such as presentation decks, event and campaign materials, to ensure consistency and maximize audience engagement.
Support Internal event coordination including networking events and staff town halls
Manage corporate memberships
Procurement of marketing materials in coordination with the procurement department.
Act as a brand champion and ensure consistent use of brand guidelines across all touchpoints.
Support market and audience research, persona development, and competitive analysis to inform campaign strategy and audience segmentation.
Additional accountabilities may be assigned as required.
Required Skills
Excellent writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
Effective communicator and persuasive storyteller, as well as a strategic thinker
Sharp attention to detail and ability to analyze information and verify accuracy
Ability to produce content in accordance with brand guidelines, communications style guide and protocols
Demonstrates professionalism, excellent judgement and agency, able to manage multiple stakeholders and projects at once to drive positive outcomes on time
Ability to tailor communications approach and style to various stakeholders
Flexible and agile, able to adapt quickly and respond to new business priorities while maintaining schedule for existing projects
Social media management skills, including developing a content pipeline and calendar, growing online audiences, enhancing engagement, targeting content and analytics
Excellent time management skills and be able to be flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships cross-department
Ability to absorb complex concepts and technical information quickly, and communicate it in the 'plain language' style
Intermediate to advanced photography and videography skills
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, in particular PowerPoint and Word
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign and Lightroom; Basic knowledge of Premiere Pro, Illustrator and After Effects, a plus
Education & Experience
At least 3 years' experience in communications/marketing/media relations or a related role
Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in communications, public relations or journalism
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, set priorities and be results-oriented
Proven ability to work with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels, and manage multiple and often competing priorities
Experience creating compelling written and visual content for internal and external audiences.
Work Environment
May require some on-site visits to project locations with minimal possibility of exposure to hazardous materials
