Job Description


Position: Marketing & Communications Coordinator Overview Reporting to the Executive Officer, this part-time position provides administrative support, prepares marketing and communication materials, and helps organize events. This position may lead to permanent full-time or part-time employment for the right candidate. Evening work (once a month or more) will be required with a time-in-lieu policy in place.   • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - business writing style
  • Exceptional customer service skills in person and on the phone
  • Proven experience in marketing and social media
  • Experience with video editing for short promotional videos & member showcases
  • Experience creating print and online material for internal and external audiences
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent multitasking, time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented administrative ability
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and relevant graphic design platforms (Adobe Acrobat & Premiere Pro)
  • Confidence and knowledge to work unsupervised and take initiative
  • Strong sense of urgency and problem solving
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in marketing, communications, business or a similar field or equivalent experience and education required
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector will be considered an asset
  • Experience working in the residential construction industry will be considered an asset
Job Duties Communications
  • Follow and update the communications plan which includes
  • social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • a weekly e-newsletter & member communications
  • Press releases
  • Design, distribute and create content for the annual membership directory including soliciting advertising
  • Create promotional content for the members of PKHBA (including showcase videos, spotlight posts, sharing members\xe2\x80\x99 posts, etc.)
  • Create a monthly social media analytics report and e-communications report for the executive officer and board members
Marketing
  • Follow & update the marketing plan for PKHBA
  • Build PKHBA\xe2\x80\x99s social media presence to increase awareness and to increase sponsorships and memberships
  • Creating videos, reels and shorts to promote members & events
  • Maintain and create content for website including taking pictures at events
  • Design marketing materials, event posters, sponsorship packages etc.
  • Create an annual membership information guide that can also be used for new members
  • Updating marketing materials where necessary
  • Increase the positive profile of PKHBA and its members in the community
Administrative Support
  • Conduct annual and topic specific member satisfaction surveys
  • Maintain online membership directory
  • Provide administrative support as necessary
  • Create and maintain list of members, contact information and communication information
Event Planning
  • Take a lead role in development of event concepts and themes
  • Create Eventbrite and record event attendees
  • Create advertising material for events to encourage participation
  • Take pictures at events for promotional purposes
  • Participate in soliciting advertising and donations as required (selling 50/50 tickets)
  • In consultation with the Executive Officer, complete event planning tasks including:
  • room layout, equipment, seating, scripting, prep with MC, sourcing of entertainment, photographer, presenters, displays, recognition of volunteers and sponsors, etc.
