Position Summary

The Marketing and Communications Associate will assist the in executing marketing projects and maintaining the Loyalist College website. The role involves collaboration with college employees and external partners and includes some graphic design responsibilities. The successful candidate will produce diverse communications materials for various platforms, aimed at prospective students and stakeholders. This position requires the ability to work both collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team and independently to meet project goals. The role entails updating the website, enhancing the college's online brand, SEO optimization, project planning, and producing written and visual marketing content.
Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborates with employees across the college to create essential publications and brochures, including graphic design elements.
Executes marketing strategies across online, multimedia, and social media platforms.
Creates and posts approved content across various channels, including emergency updates.
Manages timelines for projects, incorporating tasks like writing, proofreading, and quality control.
Gathers and analyzes engagement metrics from website and advertising campaigns, reporting to stakeholders.
Conducts regular usability tests and reviews to optimize website user experience.
Implements SEO strategies and stays updated on web marketing trends and technologies.
Ensures content quality, consistency, and relevance, utilizing feedback for continuous improvement.
Coordinates with internal departments and IT for effective content creation, updates, and issue resolution.
Stays up to date on emerging marketing and communications trends.
Regularly updates website content to keep it current, relevant, and engaging for users.

Qualifications
------------------
Completion of a three (3) year degree or diploma in journalism, communication arts, media, television or new media, or equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a related field.
Proven ability to proactively plan and execute large marketing and communication projects.
Content development and editing experience with a focus on web content, advertising, and print publications.
Demonstration of ability to write and edit, as well as support long-term planning and successful development of the website.
Strong problem-solving skills, capable of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
