Marketing & Communications Coordinator
LOCATION: Toronto, ON (temporarily remote)
POSITION TYPE: Part-time Regular (30 hours/week)

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator works collaboratively with the Fund Development team to create a range of marketing and communication materials including an engaging and structured social media plan, writing blog posts and other stories for the website, newsletters, blog and other marketing materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Contribute to all marketing and communications within the organization supporting the reputation and brand (e.g. events, strategy, media, donor communications)
  • Promote brand identity internally and externally throughout all initiatives/events
  • Support the development and implementation of a communications strategy
  • Works closely with Director, Fund Development & Marketing and Strategic Director, Fund Development and Marketing to assist in the creation of communication pieces for various items (brochure, website, social media, annual report)
  • Update and maintain content on Lumenus website
  • Collaborate with programs and various teams to update info and content as required
  • Create ongoing content for social media accounts including images and written posts
  • Source and coordinate client stories for publication including official authorization for usage
  • Training of staff to use social media tools eg website back-end, Canva, templates
  • Coordinate and create content for social media in collaboration with staff to engage stakeholders
  • Assist with developing the social media plan, develops a social media calendar, assists with social media policies
  • Monitor internal program social media sites and support staff by developing templates
  • Support creative as directed by Director Fund Development and Strategic Director Fund Development. Ongoing monitoring internal and external markets for messages and activities for the purpose of determining positioning with external competitors and messages impacting organization’s reputation
  • Support and implement delivery of the development of creative pieces for intended internal and external markets (annual report, program flyers, social media, templates, videos, eblasts) Occasionally responsible for photographs at events or stakeholder. Responsible for photo archives. May write content or scripts.
  • Work collaboratively with internal communications department
  • Work with creative and procuring vendors to supply products as marketing needs direct
  • Produce graphics to suit the medium


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job duties
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a fund development and/or marketing environment is preferred
  • Technical knowledge and experience working with websites and social media
  • Experience working with Constant Contact or Mail Chimp
  • Experience with analytics for Google, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms
  • Experience with graphics software and usage
