What you'll do
BC Hydro is seeking a dynamic Video Content Creator & Editor to join our Integrated Marketing team. In this role, you'll be
instrumental in shaping and executing BC Hydro's video strategy, overseeing the full production cycle, from concept
development and scripting, to directing and editing.
We're looking for someone with a proven ability to transform business priorities into compelling video content that resonate
with audiences. Your work will primarily support social media initiatives and broader marketing campaigns, helping BC
Hydro connect with our customers in creative and meaningful ways.
Work closely with colleagues within the Integrated Marketing team on the development and execution of video content in
support of BC Hydro's business priorities.
Manage day-to-day operations related to video production, liaising with internal departments and external video vendors
and freelancers when required.
Creative concepting and scripting of video content.
Shoot and edit video for BC Hydro's social media channels, often within tight deadlines.
Actively manage relationships with an established roster of external video vendors.
Manage production budgets and schedules where applicable.
Work with the Brand Strategy team to manage style guides and lead video best practices, acting as a mentor for others
involved in conception and production.
Work collaboratively with teams within communications and with senior managers and stakeholders throughout the
organization.
What you bring
Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, film production, or a related field.
At least six years of related experience, with experience working in a large organization, media, or agency.
Established portfolio of previous video work in various digital and social channels.
In-depth understanding of video best practices for various social media channels, including Instagram, YouTube, and
TikTok.
Demonstrated ability to deliver creative and engaging video within an established brand and video strategy.
Excellent collaboration, communication and relationship building skills.
Intermediate skills in shooting and editing video content for digital channels; experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or other
video editing software is required.
Ability to work well under time pressure.
A willingness for occasional travel within B.C. for projects as required.
Creative writing experience would an asset.
An understanding of the energy industry and regulated environment in B.C. would be an asset.

This is a full-time temporary opportunity for approximately 18 months.
A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain your Driver's License: Class 5.
