About the job

As part of a small but mighty team, you will work with various stakeholders at all levels of the ministry to:
design and execute marketing and communication plans and strategies
lead project teams and special projects related to all of NEC's marketing and outreach initiatives
anticipate contentious issues and develop strategies to manage them
prepare thoughtful responses and advice for senior leaders in response to contentious issues
develop a wide range of communication products (such as web content, media Q&As, fact sheets etc.)
manage NEC's digital presence, including its website and social media channels
What you bring to the team

Communication and relationship-building skills:
You can:
use oral and written communications skills to provide creative marketing and communications solutions and deliver presentations
demonstrate interpersonal skills, including consulting, relationship-building, and negotiation skills to influence colleagues, senior management and other stakeholders
use a variety of common office software to prepare various reports, websites and promotional materials
Planning and project management knowledge
You have knowledge of:
planning and organizational techniques to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects
project management techniques to lead medium-sized marketing and communications projects
leadership techniques to lead teams, influence senior management, colleagues and other stakeholders
Marketing and promotion skills:
You can:
apply knowledge of branding, marketing and advertising techniques (such as social media, market research, public relations etc.)
develop, execute and measure marketing and communications plans
apply communications strategies and tactics to meet client needs
Analytical and problem-solving skills:
You can:
demonstrate analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills to identify issues, client needs and establish priorities
apply knowledge of issues management and media relations practices to advise on contentious issues and respond to media inquiries
