Marketing Accountant
Our Calgary client is seeking an experienced Marketing Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external departments to provide accurate reporting, support strategic decision-making, and optimize resource allocation.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Prepare and record monthly gas pools, netback calculations, and hedging transactions
• Collaborate with Marketing, Production, and Financial Accounting teams to ensure accurate transaction accounting
• Identify and suggest process improvements within the Marketing Accounting function
• Assist with monthly reporting: accruals, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and reconciliations
• Support integration of acquisitions into marketing accounting systems and workflows
• Perform account reconciliations, respond to audit requests, and complete government reporting

Your strengths include:

• 7+ years experience in Marketing Accounting, at an intermediate to senior oil and gas producer, or midstream company
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CAPPA certification and/or CPA designation is an asset
• Strong understanding of the flow of gas, pipeline statements and gas markets
• Proven team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup and if (and) functions) as well as strong working knowledge of other Microsoft products
• Experience with BI Cubes, Metrix, Petrinex, OpenInvoice, or EKA invoicing software would be an asset
