We provide critical infrastructure services that support and control the trading, investment and corporate banking functions of TD Securities.

At TDS Data Services, Strategy and Governance, we are always looking for newer, more efficient ways to gather, manage, analyze and distribute data which means the possibilities for growth and innovation are endless.
We are a diverse and talented team within TD Securities that manages a wide range of data to help facilitate and drive the TD-Client relationship. Every single client that TD deals will have data associated with them to allow TD to trade or do business.
Data Services, Strategy and Governance is a team comprised of approximately 60 professionals that provides timely and accurate reference data services (client, credit, inventory, trading agreement, security, market and SSI) aligned to strong Governance programs, to key stakeholders globally by designing robust, scalable and flexible infrastructure and process through strategic design aligned to TD Securities\' mandate of Simplification.

Global Operations and Business Services provide essential risk management and control to preserve the Bank\'s assets / reputation. For every trade agreed / new product launched / market entered / transaction completed, it is Global Operations and Business Services\' responsibility to develop processes and controls for the business to successfully operate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking ownership of daily tasks, providing all key stakeholders with exceptional service, and working closely with the team to deliver/exceed our business goals.
Market Data Services is an independent and centralized infrastructure control function responsible for sourcing, validating, storing and distributing all security reference and market data needed for the Market Valuation Process (MVP) and Independent Price Verification (IPV) process of various asset classes. The Market Data Services Team plays a vital role in ensuring the high of quality of data used for various risk reports on the trading portfolios of the Bank. The group primarily conducts market data validation using established and agreed-upon thresholds and manages the resolution of discrepancies. The group is also responsible for ensuring that complete and accurate security reference and market data flow into the profit and loss (PnL) reports and into the Risk Analysis Engine, which computes risk metrics such as Value at Risk (VaR).
In addition, the Team is engaged in change-the-bank initiatives related to proposed changes to market data, new trading products and/or new data platforms and opportunities to innovate and automate. This role will thus appeal to an individual who is comfortable taking ownership of complex and challenging initiatives, demonstrating an aptitude for being forward thinking and innovative.
The role will require extensive co-ordination and interaction with various Operations teams, including the regional data services teams. These teams work very closely and the Analyst is expected to maintain an open and effective relationship across TD Securities\' global footprint. The role will also require close interaction with Front Office desks, Technology and other professionals across the firm to mitigate risks associated with the Market Valuation Process.
Job Requirements
Job Accountabilities
  • Generate accurate and complete Market Valuation Process (MVP) market data in accordance with the Global and associated business line IPV policies. This consists of daily validation and analysis of MVP data in the Asset Control system, as well as data reconciliation in all downstream systems.
  • Demonstrate the TD Framework and share commitments in daily activities. This consists of establishing strong relationships with Front Office, CMRM, Technology teams, audit teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders. The candidate is also expected to participate in team building and personal development activities, which aim to promote team harmony and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Actively engage in all Market Data initiatives or implementation projects aimed to either reduce market data costs or improve effectiveness of internal controls and business support.
  • Actively contribute to new projects or requirements initiated by the Project Delivery Team, Front Office or CMRM teams. This consists of understanding the project requirements, ensuring that downstream impact and limitations are properly understood and addressed, and providing feasible solutions to identified roadblocks.
  • Manage the annual audit engagements by maintaining the accuracy and completeness assertions of all assigned processes. This consists of escalating any identified control gaps, ensuring that all late or missing market data uploads and related metrics are documented and appropriately explained. The candidate is also expected to ensure that all internal control processes are adequately documented in accordance with the Global Operations Standards.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the financial markets in general and the various products employed by the business to be able to contribute to the broader Business Services group as a subject matter expert on complex products pricing & risk issues.

Job Requirements
  • A general understanding of market environments and trading businesses.
  • Proficient knowledge of interest rate, foreign exchange, and commodity financial products
  • Detailed knowledge of financial theory and risk measurement techniques gained through academic study and practical experience.
  • Experience with implementation of IT projects from a business user side would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, conceptualization and strategic thinking skills.
  • Independent thinker takes initiative to capitalize on opportunities or minimize problems.
  • Excellent PC skills and solid knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, Microsoft Excel.
  • VBA programming knowledge/skills are an asset
  • Enrollment in CFA/FRM program is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
