The new Director will lead a team of contracts specialists located across the Maritime International (“MINTL”) Division in various countries and locations and execute the following primary role/activities. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee contracts, legal (including board/corporate secretarial activities), export controls, anti-corruption, security, risk management, subcontracts, offsets, and related functions for the Division
  • Ensure adequate staffing is provided and maintained for all MINTL Division sites for these functions;
  • Build organizational talent and instill diverse, engaged and inclusive performance culture within the MINTL team;
  • Ensure compliance with subcontract/flow down procedures and offset obligations;
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and local legislative Anti-Corruption regulations and policies;
  • Manage all MINTL international representative agreements;
  • Manage board/compliance activities for MAPPS Canada, UK, Australia, India, and Malaysia Manage department budget;
  • Lead any Corporate Contracts Functional activities/programs that must be deployed at all International division locations;
  • Support alignment between CHQ and International operations in reference to Anti-Corruption, Trade Compliance, Subcontracts, Facilities and Information Technology policies/procedures;
  • Support/lead the Division’s proposal contract negotiations and legal inquiries;
  • Interpret conditions, address inquiries associated with program revenue recognition, and proactively address program execution concerns from legal perspective;
  • Participate in contracts sector/segment/corporate level training sessions as applicable and support the learning environment with my experience and knowledge;
  • Influence successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs;
  • Provide business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance;
  • Analyze new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives;
  • Protect the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions;
  • Utilize working knowledge of regulations including Canadian Government Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions (SACC) manual, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and other country government procurement regulations;
  • Analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures;
  • Establish and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer;
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time.
