We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Marine Parts Coordinator to support our Parts Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of our parts department. The ideal candidate will assist in inventory management, customer service, shipping and receiving, and the coordination of parts distribution. This role is essential in maintaining a smooth workflow, helping our team provide top-notch service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Assist in the receiving, stocking, and organizing of marine parts and accessories.
Perform regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels for popular items.
Help with ordering parts and restocking inventory as needed.
Maintain an organized and clean parts storage area.
Collaborate with the Parts Manager to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Data Entry:
Accurately input parts information, including descriptions, part numbers, prices, and quantities into the company's database system.
Maintain accurate records of all parts transactions, ensuring all documentation is complete and filed appropriately.
Ensure that all parts used are accurately updated on client work orders, reflecting the correct quantities, descriptions, and price.
Verify data accuracy and consistency, identifying and correcting any errors in the system.
Customer Service:
Provide exceptional service to customers, both in-person and over the phone, by answering inquiries and providing product information.
Assist customers in identifying and locating the correct parts for their marine equipment.
Process card transactions as well as cash transactions for small invoices.
Internal and External Order Fulfillment:
Support the Parts Manager in preparing and fulfilling customer orders.
Engage with our technicians to ensure their parts are ordered or help pull them from our inventory.
Coordinate with the service department to ensure timely delivery of parts for work orders.
Track orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a marine parts position is preferred although applicants with experience in the automotive industry may also be considered.
Strong preference for applicants that are Volvo Penta and Mercury specialists.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Proficient in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
