We are looking for talented candidates to fill the position of Marine / Operations Agent. The Marine / Operations Agent is responsible for the coordination of all marine operations, agency, and administrative functions associated with individual vessel calls to assigned Port of Operations. They will be required to make numerous trips to the marine vessel during its time in port to handle any issues relevant to the efficient arrival and departure of the vessel.
Specific Essential Job Duties:
Board vessels in port daily
Assist with vessel rotation - ordering of Pilots, tugs, linesmen, or other requirements for docking or undocking a vessel at numerous ports throughout Atlantic Canada
Assist with billing procedures
Respond to all principal or customer inquiries in line with Corporate Operations Manual Policies or Principal Governing Working Instructions
Establish and maintain vessel files ensuring documentation is prepared in an accurate and timely fashion
Assist with follow-up and completion of requests for time sensitive documentation
Prepare and execute required governmental and agency documents for appropriate approvals and submission to marine vessel files
Communicate daily with port principals, customers, vessel Captains, Port Authority, and appropriate governmental authorities (CBSA and Transport Canada)
Travel to Immigration and Customs Office to ensure all necessary documentation is ready for vessel on arrival and departure
Available to travel throughout Atlantic Canada to visit vessels under the agency's responsibilities. This can involve overnight accommodation to attend to a vessel during operations and can be outside of the Saint John and surrounding areas.
Perform other related duties at the discretion of Agency Manager or other member of management team
Post-secondary degree
Previous experience in the marine agency field helpful but not required
Possess a valid driver's license and accident-free motor vehicle record
