Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Manufacturing / Shop Manager

to lead operations in a fast-paced welding and fabrication shop. This is primarily an

office-based management role

, responsible for coordinating production, supervising staff, scheduling work, and managing inventory and materials.

The ideal candidate must have

strong hands-on experience in welding and fabrication

, combined with excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily production activities Supervise shop personnel and ensure efficient workflow Manage inventory, track materials, and place orders as required Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams Monitor job progress and ensure deadlines are met Maintain production records, reports, and documentation Handle emails, phone calls, and general office communication Enforce safety procedures and shop policies Support continuous improvement in productivity and quality

Required Qualifications

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in welding and fabrication

Previous experience in a

manufacturing or shop management role

Strong understanding of fabrication processes, drawings, and materials Excellent scheduling, planning, and organizational skills Ability to lead, motivate, and work as a team player Proficiency in email communication and basic computer skills Professional phone etiquette and communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Knowledge of inventory control systems Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads Problem-solving and decision-making skills
