Belvika Trade & Packaging Ltd. is a leading one-stop contract packaging company, specializing in precision packing of dry foods, chocolate and confectionary products from multiple facilities totaling more than 500,000 ft2. A 31-year-old and 100% owned Canadian Company, Belvika has grown to be one of the largest co-packers of chocolate, confectionary and snack products in Canada. Belvika uses its extensive experience in managing both manual processes and automated equipment to handle primary and secondary packaging of products for some of the worlds best known confectionary brands.
Belvika is growing fast and is currently seeking Maintenance Mechanics to join our Thornmount facility, located in Scarborough for various available shifts;

• 7am-3pm
• 3pm-11pm
• 11pm-7am.

The successful candidate will:

• Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines; Vertical & horizontal cartoners with gluers, SUP baggers & multi-weigh scale/filter systems
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards;
• Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product;
• Regulate machine flow or speed;
• Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor;
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material;
• Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides;
• Monitor & Perform preventative maintenance on the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn\'t sticking properly;
• Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders;
• Train Packaging Equipment Operators;
• Assist with production on lines as required;
• Be proficient in the use of the CMMS system for documenting repairs, Preventative maintenance and parts inventory management
• Other duties as assigned;

Education/Work experience requirements:

• 2-3 years experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and cartooning);
• Engineering/Technical Education background;
• Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset;
• *IMPORTANT* Licensed Millwright not required
