Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity in our team for a Manufacturing Engineer / Technician (flexible working hours). The Manufacturing Engineering Team supports the production of our cutting-edge camera and sensor products. Our team\xe2\x80\x99s mission is to bridge the gap between R&D and manufacturing and provide continuous improvements and support to manufacturing to ensure all Teledyne FLIR IIS products are produced safely with high yield and low cost.

The Manufacturing Engineer / Technician will work closely with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process roadblocks to enable smooth production lines and meet on-time delivery targets. They have a good understanding of electronic assembly, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. They are responsive, but thoughtful, curious, and reflective. They are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to achieve results that are aligned with enhanced productivity and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from other engineers in the team that will allow further career growth and learning opportunities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be the first responder to any technical blockers in manufacturing
  • Support production by troubleshooting and resolving any equipment and process failures
  • Communicate and escalate complex manufacturing issues to the appropriate parties
  • Monitor trend of failures reported in production to identify opportunities for improvements
  • Collaborate with production and other manufacturing engineers to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on existing and new manufacturing issues
  • Identify and document product design and quality failures in productions and escalate the flaws to the proper parties
  • Define and document processes that are efficient, scalable, reliable, and repeatable
  • Support Quality Assurance to review and investigate failures reported by customers and propose poka-yoke / corrective actions in manufacturing processes, operations, or jigs


Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Experience working in and supporting a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork, strategic thinking and process-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of PCBA and packaged electronics manufacturing processes


Good to have:
  • 2+ years in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity
  • Experience with scripting and automated testing tools
  • Experience with ISO 9001 requirements and certification processes
  • Experience with task tracking software such as JIRA or equivalent
  • Experience with imaging technology / computer vision
  • Experience with ERP Systems (SAP)
