We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer or EIT with Project Coordination focus, to lead engineering and manufacturing projects for the nuclear industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and custom heavy fabrication, combined with project management skills. This is a technical role that involves overseeing projects related to manufacturing of components/ containers for the nuclear industry from PO award to delivery, ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards, cost control, and timely execution. This position will report to Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Review/prepare project documents such as Technical Specifications, travelers, BOMs, manufacturing drawings, procedures etc.
Project planning & execution; facilitate project kickoffs, manufacturing reviews and other project milestones as required
Provide technical assistance for projects as required; assist in production planning, equipment selection and jig/fixture design concepts
Maintain ERP (Microsoft NAV) part of the projects, e.g., create sales orders, item numbers, production orders etc.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary to stay on track with scope, cost, and timeline
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality assurance, quality control, accounting and production
Manage risks proactively and implement mitigation plans.
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding project status and technical requirements
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance
Ensure all projects comply with nuclear industry regulations or as required by the client (e.g., ASME, CSA, or other applicable standards)
Maintain a strong safety culture and enforce adherence to workplace health and safety regulations
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
Qualifications & Requirements:

A Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering/project management, preferably in a manufacturing setting; nuclear industry experience is an asset

Strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes
CAD and drafting skills required (SolidWorks/PDM); MS Office
Familiarity with nuclear quality standards (e.g., ASME Section III, VIII, CSA N299, ISO 9001, NQA-1) will be considered an asset.
In-depth understanding of project management practices
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar software).

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
