As Black Fly Beverage Co. continues to grow and expand, we are seeking a talented and motivated

Manufacturing Engineer

to help optimize our production processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support the seamless delivery of our growing portfolio of products.

Position Overview


Reporting the to Director of Manufacturing, the

Manufacturing Engineer

will serve as the link between product design and production execution, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you will design, implement, and refine production processes, while also troubleshooting issues, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across product development, quality control, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Process Design & Development



Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing products Lead the design and development of manufacturing processes to optimize production; strategizing, planning, and executing innovative manufacturing methods to increase productivity and reduce operational costs Generate and maintain manufacturing documentation and processes, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, etc. Research, source, and document proposals for new equipment and manufacturing methods Translate complex designs into a viable production process, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and safety while meeting cost objectives

Continuous Improvement & Efficiency



Review and develop standard procedures for Manufacturing and Engineering processes Identify, recommend, and implement reliable, consistent, and efficient manufacturing processes with the goal of increasing efficiency, reduction of cost, and improved product quality Participate in lean and six sigma manufacturing initiatives as they relate to site as assigned such as 5S, value stream mapping etc. Support and participate in Lean Initiatives throughout the facility, identifying potential areas for improvement. Continuously improving the workflow and procedures in the assembly of equipment Works to continuously improve processes by using Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools

Technical Support & Troubleshooting



Act as the point of contact in the production cells to resolve equipment, processes, and procedural issues as they arise

Logistics & Facilities



Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery Oversee logistics flow and processes for both internal and external facilities

Departmental Collaboration & Training



Collaborate interdepartmentally with other team members, owning primary responsibility for process design and modifications Support kaizen events as a member of cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes are optimized to maximize efficiency, productivity and profit Track multiple projects simultaneously and maintain schedule Researches the latest technology and manufacturing practices or identifies improvements to current practices/ processes and introduces these into production Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs Participate in meetings with team members and clients Other duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in engineering required, preferably with a focus on Manufacturing and/or Industrial engineering 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a lean, high volume production manufacturing environment Candidates with applicable experience in the beverage manufacturing industry (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are

heavily preferred*.
Knowledge of industrial ergonomics, Lean Manufacturing practices, and problem-solving techniques Certification in Lean Six Sigma is an asset Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, communication, both written and verbal Able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and with good judgment in a team environment Required ability to lift heavy objects, walk, lift up to 23 kilograms/50 lbs frequently, and stand for long periods of time

Working Conditions:



Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 23 kilograms/50 lbs Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions Use of required personal protective equipment Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
