As a Manufacturing Engineer at Apex Aluminum Extrusions, you will work closely with the General Manager and the Process Improvement Engineer to evaluate, enhance, and introduce cutting-edge production processes. Collaborating with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments, you\'ll be at the forefront of raising standards in safety, quality, and productivity.

What you\'ll be doing:
  • Define and audit manufacturing procedures to drive productivity and quality improvements
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to reduce scrap and improve recovery
  • Document procedures in technical documents and create Standard Operating Procedures
  • Analyze manufacturing processes using lean principles to identify and implement improvements
  • Manage drawings (AutoCAD and OnShape) for equipment layouts, components, and assemblies
  • Specify technical requirements, obtain quotations from suppliers, and propose improvements to equipment
  • Design, source, and implement new tools and techniques for the manufacturing process
  • Research and specify manufacturing systems and equipment to expand capabilities and reduce costs
  • Support the installation of new equipment and drive changes to existing equipment
Your qualifications:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent diploma in manufacturing engineering or related discipline
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and electronics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, 3D CAD (SolidWorks or OnShape), and AutoCAD
  • Lean manufacturing skillset with practical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Expertise in data analysis, math, and unit conversions
  • Understanding of technical drawings and layouts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and draw from resources as needed
