Position Overview
We are looking for an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team. Whether you're a recent graduate or someone with hands-on manufacturing experience and a drive to improve how things are done, this role offers the opportunity to learn, solve real problems, and grow in a collaborative environment.
In this role, you will work closely with Operations, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to help improve manufacturing processes, support automation initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement projects across our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Support & Improvement
Assist in analyzing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Support root cause analysis and help implement corrective actions under guidance from senior team members.
Participate in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Help monitor process performance and support improvements to production efficiency and quality.
Engineering & Technical Support
Support manufacturing processes related to plastics injection molding, CNC machining, robotics, and assembly lines.
Assist with plant layout updates, workflow improvements, and equipment optimization.
Gain hands-on exposure to automation systems, robotics, PLCs, and CNC programming (CAM) with training provided.
Help troubleshoot production issues alongside Operations and Maintenance teams.
Documentation & CAD Support
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation.
Use CAD software to assist with layouts, schematics, and tooling designs.
Support documentation and processes aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
Team Collaboration & Learning
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support daily operations.
Participate in continuous improvement projects and improvement events.
Learn best practices in manufacturing engineering, safety, and quality systems.
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (co-op, internship, or summer experience considered an asset).
Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement exposure is an asset but not required.
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
Exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD, or similar
Interest in automation, CNC machining, robotics, or industrial equipment.
Professional Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Willingness to learn and take initiative.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical & Other Requirements
Ability to spend time on the plant floor, including standing or walking for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with required PPE.
Reliable transportation required (public transit unavailable).
