Overview:Hexagon\'s Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Manufacturing Intern to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company for the period of May 05, 2025 to April 30, 2026. To support our focus on delivering high quality products, we are looking for an enthusiastic internship student to add to our Manufacturing Process Engineering Team. This role offers you a chance to work hands-on alongside our team of technical experts, supporting and developing the hardware and software used to automate the manufacturing process of our full product line of GNSS products. Working with our experienced team you will gain valuable experience across a wide range of areas including hardware development, software development and manufacturing processes development.The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based onsite in Calgary, AB. Responsibilities:As a Manufacturing Automation Intern responsibilities at different stages of the work term include:

  • Provide support to in-house production and supplier manufacturing sites by:
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing automation issues and preventing re-occurrence by making manufacturing hardware or software improvements or proposing product or process changes
  • Support product troubleshooting in production
  • Analyze product updates and implementing changes to the manufacturing automation hardware or software
  • Define, perform, and optimize preventive maintenance of manufacturing hardware
  • Participate in the development of manufacturing process and/or test solutions including:
  • Create product-specific test/assembly software in C# and C++
  • Develop product-specific test/assembly fixture hardware: Schematic/wiring diagrams/PCB layout in Altium, mechanical design in Creo
  • Qualify the test/assembly solution using techniques such as measurement system analysis (MSA), gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R), statistical process capability (SPC), and control plan validation
  • Develop the core manufacturing automation software
  • Code, test, and validate enhancements to the manufacturing automation software system
Qualifications:Must-Have:
  • Registered in the Engineering Internship/Co-op program and have completed at least your 2nd or 3rd year of studies by the start of your work term
  • Enrolled in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering at an accredited post secondary institution
  • Available for a minimum 12 month work term, 37.5 hours a week
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • C++ or C# software development experience
  • Creo development experience
  • Able to read and understand schematics
