The Opportunity
We're hiring
two experienced Manual Machinists
--one for
Day Shift
and one for
Evening Shift
--to join our machining department. You'll run a variety of manual machines, hold tight tolerances, and collaborate with a skilled team to meet customer specifications and delivery timelines.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate
lathes, mills, boring mills, grinders, and line/align-boring machines
.
Read and interpret
engineering drawings, manuals, specs, and sample parts
; determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations.
Build
tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies
to customer specifications.
Inspect parts with precision measuring tools; verify tolerances and make adjustments as required.
Analyze repairs: select materials, estimate time, choose the best machine/process.
Sharpen and tune cutting tools
; test and optimize tooling for quality and throughput.
Monitor machines and output for
malfunctions or irregularities
; correct proactively.
Troubleshoot tooling
and collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate documentation and work within priorities set by leadership.
Follow all
safety and quality
procedures at all times.
Schedule & Compensation
Day Shift:
Monday-Friday,
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
(8 hours/day)
Evening Shift:
Monday-Friday,
3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
(
+ $1.00/hr evening premium
)
Overtime
may be required based on workload.
What You Bring
5+ years' manual machining experience
(10+ years an asset).
Advanced blueprint reading and
precision measurement
skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude; knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes.
Ability to plan sequences, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a
fast-paced
environment.
Clear communication skills (written, verbal, electronic).
Proficiency with the
Machinist's Handbook
, work instructions, and procedures.
Reliable, safety-minded, and quality-driven work ethic.
Valid driver's license
and clean abstract an asset.
