STUDENT SERVICES

Reporting to the Director, Student Services, the Manager, Wellness develops and implements strategies aligning with the College\xe2\x80\x99s vision and mission including , ensuring the long-term vision for the Centre is supported through stewardship and financial resources with partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Focusing on ethical practice, operational process improvement, and policy and procedure development and implementation, the Manager directly impacts student success, experiences, and retention.

HOW YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Assist in the delivery of trauma-informed support services to students of the college who have been impacted by general mental concerns and sexual and gender-based violence, contributing to coordination and communications to departments that are most likely to be involved in the response to incidents on campus.
  • Lead health nurses who provide practical nursing emergency supports, immunizations, and proactive health approaches for all learners.
  • Maintain community contacts and up-to-date resources and knowledge.
  • Monitor student usage and trends, provide relevant reporting including government and executive reporting related to spending, usage, and trends.
  • Ensure effective processes to meet the needs of students attempting to access crisis counselling support.
  • Serve as the primary contact for student issues in the Centre for Growth and Harmony.
  • Participate as a member of the Campus Assessment Response Evaluation (CARE) team, responding to risks identified to the College community.
  • Ensure ethical practice guidelines, standards of practice, and standardized process improvements for the Centre for Growth and Harmony are developed and followed including operationalizing best practices outlined by professional regulatory bodies, informed consent, Release of Information, use and disclosure of confidential information, and multidisciplinary expectations and boundaries.
  • Consult with other post-secondary service providers regarding supports offered to students, best practices, resources, and special projects.
  • Responsible for participating as a member of Healthy Campus Alberta.
  • Lead the Wellness team consisting of Social Workers, Counsellors, LPNs, and Advisors through goal setting, service delivery reviews, process improvements, and providing feedback and recognition.
  • Contribute to strategic planning with Student Services leadership to support intra-departmental integration and align services with emerging trends and college priorities.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in health, social work, or a mental-health related area.
  • Registration with a relevant licensing body.
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a management role, ideally in a post-secondary environment.
  • Knowledge of the Health Professions Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Mental Health Act, Communicable Disease legislation, and other applicable legislation.
  • Knowledge and experience delivering best practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies Standards of Practice.
  • Experience developing effective safety plans for individuals at risk for harm, and crisis response.

SALARY: $95,809 - $119,733 reflective of what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
