Job Summary

As Manager for our Technical Services team located at the Laval site, your role consist in plan, manage and coordinate staff and/or project tied to improvements in efficiencies, quality, cost controls and training for all technical operational activities.

In this role, responsibilities may include

  • Oversee the daily operation of the support areas
  • Assess staffing requirements. Maximize the utilization of all technical personnel
  • Assist in the development and recommendations of departmental budgets. Maintain budgets for all designated areas to meet or exceed site objectives
  • Implement training and methods to ensure that they meet or surpass industry and company expectations, focusing on animal and employee welfare
  • Provide leadership to direct others in solving complex problems
Key Elements

We are looking for the following qualifications for this role :
  • Education in Biology, Animal Science, Biotechnology or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in a contract research environment
  • 2-5 years in managerial capacity
  • In-depth understanding of GLP regulations
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Detail oriented and meticulous
  • Excellent ability to efficiently manage people, time and resource
  • Understanding of English is mandatory. Bilingualism in French and English is preferred.
Role Specific Information

Location: Laval / Shuttle service between Montmorency metro station and Laval site, Free parking
Schedule: Work schedule requires flexibility as per job requirements
Permanent position as of the hiring, full time 37.5hrs per week

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
