Overview

As the Manager, Systems Architecture you are responsible for managing a dedicated team of Systems Architects ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture on decision making for information technology and investments linked to the Corporation's technology and business strategy. You will also maintain key strategic relationships through close collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, third-party stakeholders, and leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance and is responsible for the creation and operation of a positive, secure and motivating work environment.
  • Responsible for all activities of a manager, including management of the department budget, participation in strategic planning, long term human resource planning, budgeting for special projects, and monitoring/reporting of results and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate Systems Architecture strategic vision.
  • Provide leadership and participation in planning, definition, and high-level design of a solution and exploration of solution alternatives across system families.
  • Provide leadership and participate in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, especially with enabler Epics.
  • Implement and participate in governance processes for establishment of a Systems Architecture Centre of Excellence and Community of Practice to centralize applicable standards and frameworks.
  • Work with portfolio stakeholders, notably the Enterprise Architecture, to develop, analyse, split, and realize the implementation of enabler epics across Agile Release Trains (ART's) and system families.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business or applied Science with a demonstrated record of continuing education in the Information Technology field.
  • Ten years of experience in information technology covering a wide range of technologies and disciplines, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity with a proven track record of deploying new technologies. Specific skills must include one of the following:
  • Strong application development background using a variety of technologies including client/server and relational database technology;
  • Strong technology deployment background using a variety of technologies including networking and platforms.
  • Advanced analytical skills, ability to problem solve and recommend solutions to enhance operations to improve service delivery.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Intermediate skills with the ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with leaders, peers, and vendors.
  • Intermediate knowledge of a variety of system development life cycles, such as sequential, iterative and agile.
  • Working knowledge of applicable software (MS365, Azure DevOps, MS Dynamics).
