Responsible for leading the supply chain team in the disciplines of both procurement and warehousing. This position is accountable for the delivery of a high level of customer service and satisfaction, supporting Construction & Operations, as well as support functions, and works collaboratively with Finance and Accounting. The Manager, Supply Chain, develops, executes, measures, and reports on supply chain strategy in connection with the Natural Gas business plan. Further, this role is responsible for the building of key supplier and contractor relationships to ensure the efficiency and quality of material and service delivery. This responsibility extends to reporting on risk within the supply chain, developing solutions, and executing on mitigation strategies for both pricing and materials constraint challenges. Through warehousing responsibilities this role collaborates with ATCO\xe2\x80\x99s Inventory Controls team to implement technology, systems, and processes that deliver efficiency and customer service improvements. The Manager, Supply Chain is also accountable for development of internal relationships with peers and end user groups to ensure alignment of strategy, timelines, and priorities. Responsibilities:

  • Determines and recommends resourcing strategy for the Procurement and Warehousing teams.
  • Provide guidance and development to supervisors through coaching, career development planning.
  • Evaluate and measure performance of supervisors, and oversee development, measurement, and review of team performance.
  • Evaluate employee skills, potential, and development needs. Delegate workload to promote employee development and opportunities for growth.
  • Cross-functional leadership of teams / committees to implement efficiency improvements, process change, and technology implementation & leverage.

  • Develop strategy & measurement metrics for Natural Gas supply chain through team engagement and leadership. Monitor execution and report regularly.
  • Evaluate, implement, and collaborate around system-based automations that allow for decreased workload, expedite transactions, and improve customer experience.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships inside and outside of the organization to break down barriers and eliminate cross-functional and business to business process lag.
  • Lead the strategic contracting to establish supply certainty, mitigate risk (supply, quality, etc.) and achieve cost savings & cost avoidance in both materials and services categories.
  • Analyze, determine, and implement strategy for inventory levels that both drive cost savings for the organization by reducing holding costs while improving customer satisfaction. Maintain a high level of order fill rates.
  • Oversee, develop, and adjust procurement & warehousing policy and processes in coordination with ATCO Group level direction and requirements.
  • Incorporate Oracle Cloud optimizations in day-to-day operations to eliminate manual work and record keeping while optimizing process.
  • Oversee, review, and approve development of contract summaries & recommendations for stakeholder and executive approval.
  • Establish and implement collective GBU contract terms and conditions for major contracts.
  • Develop, improve, and document critical supply and emergency supply procedures and physical storage strategies to minimize risk of material outages and timelines to respond to emergencies.
  • Utilize data to recommend stocking levels, coordinate with district offices, and eliminate inventory inaccuracies.
  • Lead the continued cleanup of excess inventory and optimization of yard space and storage at various facilities.
  • Integrate Procurement processes with Warehouse processes for greater effectiveness and efficiency; eliminate administrative load where possible and utilize system automation.
  • Collaborate closely with peers to identify and mitigate risks, inefficiencies, and customer service shortfalls. Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to find automated solutions and eliminate manual workarounds.
  • Engage with team members to build and develop ideas that support both improvements for the team and stakeholder groups.
  • Align initiatives with the business plan, IT strategy, regulatory strategy, and ensure change drives value and best practice.
  • Align with Common Services team to deliver strategic sourcing, Oracle support, legal support, etc. to procurement and warehousing as well as stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate across the ATCO group to ensure implementation of shared processes and systems, accounting & financial reporting structure, Human Resources standards, policy implementation, etc.
Qualifications:
  • SCMA Designation or Post-Secondary degree in Supply Chain preferred
  • People leadership experience of 5 years + in Supply Chain field
  • Experience in Natural Gas production, storage, transportation preferred
  • Discipline level strategy development and risk ownership experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems, specifically financial and supply chain modules
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement law, tendering process, contract management skills, language and applications, and contractual terms and conditions & negotiations
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory management strategies such as perpetual inventory, storage and delivery optimization, and related financial implications / controls
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to resolve conflict, empathize and develop mutual solutions, and support overall goals
  • The ability to work cross functionally to develop positive relationships
