Orbital Research Ltd. is a BC based technology company that develops wireless and RF products for Satellite Communications in harsh and demanding environments. Our designs and products span DC to 50 GHz and are installed on vehicles, ships, aircraft, spacecraft and on the ground in remote locations as well as telecom carrier locations. Our team of specialists take new products from concept to volume production.

We currently have an opening for a

SUPPLY CHAIN

MANAGER

at our Burnaby, BC location. In this full-time, on-site position, you will be responsible to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement, inventory management, and supplier coordination that directly supports on-time delivery and optimal production flow for our build-to-order aerospace RF products.

Key Accountabilities:



95%+ On-Time Supplier Delivery Performance - Establish supplier scorecards and ensure delivery schedules are met through proactive communication and expediting. Inventory Accuracy > 98% - Maintain system integrity and physical accuracy through regular cycle counts and process discipline. Lead Time Reduction of 20% on Key Components - Work with vendors to reduce lead times through forecasting, blanket POs, or alternate sourcing. 80%+ On-Time PO Placement Within 24 Hours of Demand Signal - Improve responsiveness and communication with production planning to avoid shortages. 95% + of goods processed the day they are received. Zero Production Line Stoppages Due to Material Shortages - Monitor open orders, inventory levels, and delivery schedules daily to prevent disruptions. Clean, Organized, and Audit-Ready Supply Chain Records - Maintain ERP system data, PO documentation, and receiving records in a fully traceable and auditable state.

Responsibilities:



Be responsible for all Supply Chain related activities, including, but not limited to: revenue planning, sourcing, purchasing for components, services, and MRO supplies, materials planning, warehousing, processing and preparing shipping documents for shipments to customers and handling of incoming and outgoing logistics. Track and follow up on order confirmations, shipping notifications, and deliveries. Maintain supplier database, purchase records , item parameters, relationships and negotiate pricing/lead times as needed. Manage supplier quality through QMS to meet customer quality standards and specifications. Work closely with Sales, Production and Engineers to plan and manage demand requirements (current and future) with manufacturing and supplies to meet customer delivery expectations. Reconcile receipts and resolve invoice discrepancies with Finance. Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and participate in annual inventory audits. Contribute to ERP system accuracy and participate in continuous improvement projects

Minimum Qualification and Skills:



Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related filed (or equivalent work experience) 5+ years experience in a Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace or Electronics preferred). Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, JobBOSS, Epicor, etc.). Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong Excel and data analysis skills. A good understanding of accounting principles such as PO Lifecycle, inventory valuation and costing methods, accounts payable and basic financial statements. An understanding of contract law related to purchasing contracts, supplier agreements, risk management and including knowledge of shipping such as Incoterms, customs documentation and freight and carrier agreements. Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100D systems is a plus.
