The Opportunity




Are you a big-picture thinker who thrives on turning vision into action and results? Plannera is seeking a future-focused Manager of Strategy and Innovation to help shape the future of the company. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of our corporate strategy, working across teams to align our long-term objectives with meaningful and measurable plans. You will support a culture of innovation, ensure strategic clarity and help embed planning and accountability practices that drive results. Lead the strategic planning processes, for the corporate and pension plans, working with senior leaders and departments to turn long-term vision into actionable plans; Co-ordinate cross-functional efforts to implement strategic initiatives, identifying interdependencies and ensuring strong execution across teams; Develop and maintain an integrated planning and accountability framework that connects strategy with strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations; Monitor and analyze industry trends, market shifts and regulatory changes to provide timely, relevant insights that shape strategic direction; Strengthen strategy, planning and continuous improvement capacity across the organization by providing training, coaching and developing resources for staff and leaders; Support departments in applying strategy and continuous improvement approach to align their work, enhance efficiency and improve service delivery; Developing and managing a high-performing team of strategy professionals.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, client-focused and results-oriented team leader that thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Key attributes include:

Proven ability to lead strategic planning processes and apply planning and accountability frameworks in a practical, integrated and organization-wide way; Strong knowledge of project management, change management, continuous improvement and strategic research method to drive innovation and operational excellence; Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with experience facilitating meetings and building consensus with senior leaders, cross-functional teams and governing bodies; Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and accountability; and Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actional insights, supporting data-informed decision-making and long-term planning.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position will be attained through a combination of:

Completion of a post-graduate degree in public policy, public administration, economics, social sciences, administration or related discipline; Several years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and Knowledge of Canadian best practices in pension and benefit administration and legislation.
