Reporting to the National Director of Procurement and Supply Chain this position is accountable for achieving significant and measurable competitive advantage through the application of leading procurement practices including the ongoing commercial management of key suppliers so that they are able to maximize their contribution to overall corporate goals. This will be accomplished through taking a longer term and enterprise approach to developing and executing procurement sourcing and contracting strategies for goods and services across all business categories at the lowest total cost to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze internal costs and market trends in order to uncover sourcing and supplier consolidation opportunities
  • Partner with internal leadership and internal business units in order to establish sourcing strategies
  • Identify potential projects to deliver changes and cost improvements to the business
  • Improve internal procurement practices through establishing best-in-class procurement methods, business models for evaluating supplier proposals and standard document templates
  • Seek proposals from suppliers, conduct commercial and contractual negotiations and contribute to the overall improvement of procurement practices at Eastlink
  • Establish key performance indicators, monitor performance and improve performance against set goals
  • Ensure supplier relationship management plans are established and implemented following agreement implementation
  • Identify and manage risk within the supply chain
Requirements:

This position requires in depth knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes gained through at least five years of experience at a leadership level with decision making authority. A University degree in a relevant field of study is needed. The right candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, project management skills, strong organizational skill and entrepreneurial in nature. A Procurement designation is desirable.
