Our Capital Projects Group is seeking a Manager for its Stations Capital Delivery division. This position manages a team of staff, consultants and contractors to deliver capital railway infrastructure projects encompassing the planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases, and in accordance with approved timelines, budget and project deliverables.
What will I be doing?

  • Assist in developing project delivery strategies while providing overall administrative and technical leadership and oversight to capital projects consisting of multiple capital corridor infrastructure projects to ensure consistency and coordination of efforts and successful completion of the program.
  • Familiarity with and proven experience with diverse procurement strategies, i.e., Design Build, CM at Risk contract forms delivering large-scale, multi-stakeholder infrastructure projects
  • Integrates corporate requirements, commitments and initiatives into projects, including design requirements, environmental assessment conditions, community and municipal commitments, Passenger Charter, design excellence, and property acquisition conditions.
  • Collaborate with the applicable Centre(s) of Excellence and other Metrolinx stakeholders to incorporate requirements, and ensure projects within CPG are implemented consistently, efficiently, safely, and in a coordinated manner.
  • Oversee consultants and contractors in the delivery of scope of work, as defined in respective contracts, ensuring that corrective action and escalation is initiated when necessary.
  • Manage project scope/requirements changes; handles change orders with contractors, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts; ensures all are clearly identified and approved before progressing, and ensuring contract documents reflect addendums issued.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Valid Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Licensed Architect (OAA) designations or equivalent (within or outside of Canada) are considered assets.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in engineering and project management services associated with the planning, design, and construction of transit or railway corridor infrastructure including structures, bridges, tunnels, and earthworks and drainage. Previous experience should include leading a team of technical professionals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the theories, principles and practices of civil design and construction, skill and proficiency in broad phases of engineering application.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing the competing objectives of many external and internal stakeholders.
