THE POSITION





The Calgary Stampeders and the CFL will host the 2026 Grey Cup Festival from November 8-14, 2026 and the 113th Grey Cup on November 15, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta. This event will consist of a variety of fan activations around the city of Calgary and the downtown core.



Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Stadium Operations Manager is responsible for assisting on all event logistics pertaining specifically to the 113th Grey Cup. This includes the planning and coordination of all operational aspects of the Stadium. This role will also assist with special events as assigned.



This is a fixed term position ending December 31st, 2026.




KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



Event Planning & Stadium Readiness


Assist with the development and creation of fan activations at McMahon Stadium, including concept brainstorming, written outlines, visual mock-ups, and budget forecasts for review and approval. Oversee coordination of all event logistics in conjunction with the Production Manager, including event briefs, floorplans, building permits, rentals, and F&B requirements. Work with the Director, Operations, Production Manager, and Site Managers on event load-in, game day execution, and post-event strike. Coordinate pageantry and wayfinding signage for the Grey Cup in collaboration with the Production Manager and CFL.

Partner & Vendor Management


Act as the primary point of contact for third-party vendors, contractors, and facility staff on all event-related items. Coordinate with confirmed entertainers, exhibitors, and delegates regarding their assigned activation areas. Liaise with Calgary Stampeders/CSEC and CFL partnerships team to fulfill sponsor contractual obligations. Assist with the development of CFL-led special events as the venue contact.

Safety, Security & Compliance


Assist with security and fan experience plans, including emergency response, health and safety protocols, and risk management Work in conjunction with the Director, Operations and Production Manager on all requirements involving Civic Services, Calgary Police Service, Alberta Health Services, Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Transit, and AGLC.

Financial & Administrative Duties


Assist with tracking event expenses leading up to and during the event, and support post-event invoice reconciliation. Work with the volunteer program manager to coordinate all volunteer and staffing requirements. Perform any other duties as assigned.



THE INDIVIDUAL





The ideal individual will have the following background:


Experience: 5+ years organizing and executing large-scale events, preferably in sports or entertainment. Skills: + Strong organizational, strategic planning, and implementation skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to create and deliver presentations.
+ Ability to develop work-back schedules, critical paths, and meet deadlines under pressure.
+ Knowledge of venue operations, safety protocols, and crowd management.
+ Experience managing third-party vendors and contractors.
Technical Skills; + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products; knowledge of project management and site mapping software(s) is an asset.
Other Requirements: + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods and performing manual tasks (e.g., carrying equipment during load-in).
+ Availability to work evenings and weekends leading up to the Grey Cup, especially November 7-15, 2026.
