We're looking for a Controller/Senior Finance professional in the real estate industry based in Edmonton, AB.

The Controller/Senior Finance professional will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, providing strategic insights, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys both detailed accounting work and big-picture financial management.
Controller/Senior Finance responsibilities:

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Provide financial analysis to support business strategy and investment decisions
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with project and operations teams to track performance and profitability
  • Mentor and develop members of the finance team
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
The successful candidate has:
  • 5 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within the real estate industry
  • CPA designation required
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with sound business acumen
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
  • Excellent analytical and communication abilities
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven approach
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $120,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
