Since 2012, we have invested more than $400 million in facilities, people, processes, and technology, making Halifax Shipyard one of the most modern and capable shipyards in North America. Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20+ modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history. This year we delivered the second lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we're just getting started. The third ship will be delivered in 2022.

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Manager, Screening and Investigations.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Manager responsible for the execution and delivery of the initial vetting of new hires and determining if employee security clearances can and should be maintained. As Company Security Officer and Lead Designated Official, individual shall also be accountable to the Government of Canada for ensuring the companyaEUR(TM)s adherence to the Government Security Policy is maintained. Individual will be tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive Insider Threat program to ensure the companyaEUR(TM)s high value assets are protected.

Qualifications:

• Education required:

• Post-secondary education in a related discipline
• Company Security Officer, Contract Security Program
• Designated Official, Controlled Goods Directorate
• CERT Insider Threat Program Manager (to be obtained within 12 months of appointment)
• Experience required:

• Five or more years of experience in national security, industrial security, or criminal investigations
• Demonstrated experience and success in security screening and employee vetting
• Five or more years of experience fulfilling the role of Company Security Officer or Alternate Company Security Officer
• Demonstrated experience in a complex analytical environment

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfil the role of Company Security Officer for ISI
• Manage the activities of the Security Screening and Investigation (SSI) unit
• Act as the primary point of contact for the business for all complex issues relating to security screening
• Act as the primary point of contact for the business for all investigations not covered by JDI Corporate Security, including the implementation of the ISI Investigation Protocol
• Act as the primary point of contact for the business for all issues relating to the ISI Insider Threat Program
• Act as the primary point of contact for Programs on issues relating to security screening and investigations
