Job Description

The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Manager of Retail Operations who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.


Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Manager is responsible for driving the overall performance and success of the Mint's retail locations. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement targeted sales programs that enhance store visibility and attract customers. You will manage the retail team's performance targets and establish the strategic direction to maximize sales and ensure customer satisfaction. You will act as a liaison across organizational channels to gather the insights required to develop plans that maximize the impact of retail operations in alignment with the broader business objectives.


### Your Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team by providing guidance, fostering professional growth, and encouraging collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
• Lead the creation of strategic plans for multiple retail operations to drive growth, improve sales, track performance targets, manage KPIs and enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with the retail advertising team to identify promotional opportunities, campaigns, and programs designed to drive foot traffic and elevate brand visibility across retail locations.
• Continuously analyze metrics, performance, market trends and data to identify opportunities and service enhancements to meet or exceed targets.
• Serve as the process owner for all retail operations, ensuring all processes are standardized, followed consistently, and optimized for efficiency and effectiveness across all locations.
• Act as the bridge between retail operations and other departments to ensure alignment of strategies, goals, and execution across the organization.
• Oversee compliance with operational standards, legal requirements, and industry best practices, regularly updating processes and procedures to meet evolving business and regulatory needs.





This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa or Winnipeg location generally on an average of 3 days a week which could change based on operational requirements.


### Qualifications:

Language Requirements


• An advanced level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is required at the time of hire. If a bilingual candidate is not identified, other language profiles may be considered.




Education


• University Degree or College Degree in a related area or an acceptable combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.




Experience


• Minimum of seven (7) years of related business experience developing B2C service and sales strategies with the proven ability to execute them.
• An exceptional people leader with at least five (5) years of progressive management and or leadership experience.
• Proven experience in driving and fostering a culture of team collaboration, knowledge sharing and cross-functionality amongst team members.




Additional Qualifications:


• Strong knowledge of managing a high performing team in a merchandizing/retailing capacity.
• Proven analytical skills needed to calculate strategic risks and solve potential problems on issues ultimately impacting service, sales and people objectives.
• Able to execute multiple projects and excel in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.
• Able to multitask, manage your own workload while delegating accordingly to meet deadlines.
• Possess a positive attitude and set empowering expectations for the team to foster an engaging work environment.
• Able to remain on top of industry trends and best practices to ensure continued success and growth of operations.
• Proficient with MS Office suite software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal; provide ongoing updates and feedback to the Team.
