Your Opportunity:We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled candidate to gain leadership experience with this temporary position in the Child, Youth, & Family Addiction & Mental Health - Central Zone Red Deer Portfolio! The Manager is the primary contact for youth detoxification for Central Zone. The position is responsible to ensure effective care of people needing timely, compassionate, and appropriate addiction and mental health services and commensurate with the vision and mandate of AHS. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for budget management and day to day maintenance issues, human resource and performance management, including recruitment, performance management, accountability for budget forecasting and budget adherence for a multi-million dollar budget. The manager adapts organizational business and strategic plans and priorities to address operational and resource challenges and oversees clinical supervisor/charge nurse and leads together to supervise front line staff in the delivery of addiction and mental health services based on best and promising practices. The results obtained are primarily achieved through the work of the front line team. This Manager works collaboratively as part of a team of managers responsible for community youth addiction and mental health services in Red Deer. This position is a key member of the Red Deer Children\'s AMH leadership group and works collaboratively with the larger Central Zone leadership team. There is the expectation of being cross-trained in all leadership positions in the Child, Youth, & Family portfolio in order to facilitate cross-programmatic care, staffing needs, and coverage when necessary. Strong clinical knowledge and acumen in Addiction & Mental Health is required in this role. Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years clinical experience related to the Addictions and Mental Health field is essential to this role; Minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree, Master\'s Degree preferred with Registration or ability to Register under the Health Professions Act Progressive experience in a health care environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as demonstrated effective problem solving. Change management awareness, computer proficiency, Microsoft Office Suite proficiency. Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in leading healthcare teams and providing innovative solutions to complex system issues. Proven coaching skills that support team members to reach their full potential. An ability to work hard, have fun and contribute to a dynamic, successful healthcare team. Minimum of 5 years\' experience in a management role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity Strong knowledge of Addiction & Mental Health Acute Care, Crisis Response, and outpatient based community services and the complexities that surround them. Liaise with provincial and judicial colleagues and other community stakeholders Preferred Qualifications:Experience with AHS software an asset Masters Degree in relevant field. Flexibility and adaptability.
