Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.Our Property Acquisitions Team is seeking a Manager, Property Acquisition Controls to lead a team in forecasting and budgeting related to delivery of properties for various multi-billion-dollar Metrolinx projects.What will I be doing?

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Property Acquisition Controls Team
  • Coordinate and consolidate monthly and annual financial reporting for Metrolinx Property Acquisitions, Corporate Finance and Capital Finance
  • Develops and implements property acquisition cost control systems, operational procedures, and reporting systems to control the flow of funds for capital projects in accordance with Metrolinx financial policies and procedures
  • Develops and implements risk management strategies and controls to mitigate financial risk and exposure on multi-year multi-billion-dollar capital projects
  • Manages and leads continuous property cost reporting with accurate and timely information of budget, commitments, forecast, trends, variances, progress, performance, risk and opportunity, contingency, and cash flow.
  • Monitors costs against agreed-upon property budgets, forecasts, and contractual deliverables within and across large and mission critical projects.
  • Leads the review and audit of non-contract costs, labour and expense reports, and submission of adjustments to corporate Finance to ensure complete and accurate information
  • Provides advice to various Leads and embedded cost controllers in all matters related to property cost control systems and procedures to achieve on-time and on-budget goals
  • Leads the provision of financial analysis, expertise, and advice to senior management and project teams regarding property acquisition expenses and fiscal matters throughout the lifecycle of these large multiple concurrent multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects
  • Other duties as assigned
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Urban & Regional Planning, Urban Land Economics, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading real estate acquisitions, commercial finance, valuation experience and asset management programs.
  • Experience with transit construction infrastructure and/or Alternative Financing and Procurement projects would be beneficial
  • Extensive experience leading, prioritizing, and managing numerous project initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience with financial modelling and analytics is a strong asset
  • Experience leading a team of high-performing professionals
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Expropriation Act a strong asset
