We have partnered with a local organization based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba that provides emergency restoration services to residential and commercial clients. Their team is looking to add an experienced

Production Department Manager

to lead their growing team. Reporting to the Vice President, the Production Department Manager plays a key leadership role in driving departmental performance across critical metrics such as sales, profit margins, job cycle time, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of Production Coordinators, ensuring successful project execution through hands-on coaching, structured team meetings, and performance monitoring. Working closely with sub-trades, project stakeholders, and internal departments, the Production Department Manager sets clear expectations and fosters a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and financial acumen.

Key Responsibilities



Department Leadership & Operational Management:



Assign new reconstruction jobs to Production Coordinators based on workload and skillset. Lead monthly production meetings and regular check-ins with team members. Serve as the subject matter expert for project coordination, troubleshooting challenges alongside team members. Resolve customer escalations professionally and in a timely manner. Identify inefficiencies and implement strategies to optimize performance. Lead staffing efforts by identifying departmental needs and managing recruitment. Train and onboard new hires in budgeting, scheduling, and client communication standards. Conduct structured performance reviews and ongoing staff coaching. Promote a team culture centered on accountability, quality, and development. Support employees in achieving professional training and development goals.

Financial Management:



Set annual departmental sales goals and individual Coordinator targets. Monitor job budgets and department financial performance; report discrepancies as needed. Ensure monthly billing targets are met and all final invoices are reviewed and approved. Conduct margin reviews, monitor reserve use, and evaluate documentation accuracy prior to billing. Lead post-mortem reviews on low-margin projects to identify improvement opportunities. Track and analyze financial results by coordinator, PM, insurer, and job type to identify trends.

Quality Control & Compliance:



Audit job files regularly to verify timeline adherence, communication standards, and milestone completion. Monitor sub-trade performance and escalate concerns where necessary. Approve sub-trade invoices exceeding $20,000 and ensure compliance with contract terms. Ensure insurer protocols are followed, including communication logs, schedule updates, and response times. Participate in the onboarding and qualification process for new sub-trades.

Required Skills and Experience



Minimum 3 years of experience in construction; restoration experience strongly preferred. Proven leadership ability with experience in mentoring and developing staff. Strong knowledge of project costing, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting. Familiarity with insurance restoration standards and workflows is an asset. Ability to read and interpret Xactimate and Symbility estimates. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software tools.
