About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Sr Manager of Commercial Services, the Manager, Product Quality is accountable for the direction and mentorship of the Commercial Product Quality team while handling petroleum product quality related to Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99s (CVE) commercial commodities. The accountability of this role also includes: the commercial optimization of all commodities, from wellhead to final market, provision of expertise related to product blending/trim blending; provision of expertise with respect to petroleum quality language in commercial agreements; ensuring that all Cenovus products meet applicable pipeline, terminal and industry quality specifications.

Responsibilities:
Oversight of product quality management across Operations organization
Collaboration with commodity traders and industry partners for product testing and analysis
Representation of Cenovus in technical industry committees
Identification of strategic opportunities for value through blending processes
Evaluation and monitoring of quality parameters for new product supply
Development of policies and procedures for equalization matters
Investigation and implementation of corrective actions for product quality issues
Optimization of contractual language regarding quality
On-call 24/7 for quality-related emergencies.
Qualifications:
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Bachelor of Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline. In addition, 10+ years of direct industry experience with an emphasis on crude oil quality characteristics is required
P.Eng designation and/or an MBA will be considered an asset
Leadership experience is preferred
Proven ability to mentor and lead individuals in their careers, set direction and positively influence the culture and environment of the broader group
Outstanding understanding of petroleum quality specifications for all commodities
Strong understanding of the Rules & Regulations governing logistics, product quality and contractual quality language associated with commercial transportation agreements, with ability to create and translate into optimization opportunities for Cenovus
Strong understanding of logistical interfaces between pipe, rail, truck and marine transportation
Comprehensive understanding of the physical flow of Oil and Gas Operations
