Manager, Product Development & Data Analytics

Equisoft, a leading global provider of digital business solutions for the insurance and wealth industries, is actively seeking new talent!

Reporting to the Director, Core Insurance Solutions, the incumbent is responsible for the daily supervision of the team to contribute to the continuous development of each team member and to the evolution of the various functionalities of our products and the architecture of our solutions. You will also be responsible for ensuring the productivity of the entire team by participating in the development of the team's objectives, identifying potential issues and contributing to the maintenance of a culture of continuous improvement and sharing of best practices in terms of product development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management (70%)

• Establish, in close collaboration with management, the team's objectives, communicate them clearly to the team and ensure that they are achieved;

• Maintain an inspiring team environment with a culture of listening and open communication;

• Have a regular point of contact (formal 1:1 session) with each team member to discuss progress on goals and professional development;

• Conduct annual performance reviews;

• Drive the annual compensation plan exercise in collaboration with management and communicate to team members;

• Identify the hiring needs of the team and actively participate in the recruitment process;

• Take charge of performance management and appropriate disciplinary measures in collaboration with the Director of Core Insurance Solutions and Human Resources;

• Ensure the proper management of availability (leaves, vacations, contingencies, etc.);

• Approve team members' time sheets.

Projects and Initiatives (30%)

• Support and work closely with team leads in the planning, organization and coordination of ongoing projects and initiatives;

• Support team leads in the implementation of efficient and optimal work methods;

• Identify potential projects and opportunities that meet research and development (SR&ED) criteria and ensure the development of files in collaboration with the Principal, Tech Lead;

• Represent the team with close collaborators (customers, partners, account managers, etc.);

• Assist the Director of Core Insurance Solutions in all horizontal initiatives;

MUST-HAVES

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or administration or other related field

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role

• A strong understanding of cloud architecture and cloud system design (Familiar with public clouds such as Azure, OCI and AWS)

• Strong creative and problem-solving skills

• Excellent knowledge of team performance metrics

• Excellent knowledge of good development practices

• Good knowledge of web application development and Agile methods

• Bilingual English-French (spoken and written)

• Familiarity with Data Lakes, Cloud Data Pipelines and Azure Databricks

• Familiarity with Power BI and Azure Synapse Analytics
