About the Role:



Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver is in need of a dynamic manager to oversee its donation procurement and logistics. This is a full-time permanent position. This is a ground-engaged role, active in all aspects of supply chain from procurement to logistics, inventory management and efficiencies that encourage innovation, continuous improvement, and expansion. The position will serve on the management team and will report to the Director of ReStore Operations.

As the Manager, Procurement and Logistics, you will be the primary point of contact for all donors including but not limited to residential, commercial and deconstruction donors, build and manage relationships with donors to form partnerships and manage all aspects of logistics and distribution of inventory across the system.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Build and maintain relationships with donors, donation referral sources and other partners of the Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver Affiliate in both the retail and deconstruction industries

Communicate daily with Restore Director and Restore Managers to prepare sales floors and warehouses for corporate and private donation arrivals

Make cold calls and approach possible new commercial donors and "go the extra mile" to meet and exceed the donor's expectations

Develop workflows and strategies to enhance ReStore's reputation and improve donation outcomes

Assess donation requests for re-sale suitability using the online scheduling system

Filter unwanted materials expeditiously but tactfully from donations.

Answer donors' email and phone queries

Issue tax receipts as required

Schedule the donation trucks and drivers to ensure maximum productivity of the donation pick up routes and control fleet expenses

Reconcile donation paperwork with stores following delivery

Supervise the Procurement Team's Drivers and Swampers

Conduct ride-alongs to review

Supervise the flow of goods into the ReStores to ensure the value of materials is retained, provide proper disbursement to required stores, prevent loss/theft.

Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands and manage scheduling and payroll of the warehouse/fleet team

Manage freight carrier relationships to improve service levels and pricing and lead the new services launch to ensure excellent customer experience.

Manage the recycling and waste contracts for the Restores and warehouse

Develop relationships and partnerships with other organizations whose work contributes to or creates synergies with the ReStores and the procurement or selling of inventory including other affiliates, bulk purchasers, local government and municipalities or any other entities

Ensures adherence to HFHGV's health and safety practices

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



Able to work independently and/or with others

Knowledgeable of home renovation materials

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a collected and pleasant composure - promoting an approachable and pleasant work and retail space.

Dedicated to presenting a professional appearance, demeanor and attitude

Superior written and oral communications skills, including ability to develop reports and deliver effective presentations

Provide superior customer service to customers and donors

Able to handle tasks that require physical strength and endurance, such as lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs unassisted on a regular basis

Strong capacity to multi-task

Strong interpersonal and team building skills

Detail oriented, with good verbal and written communication skills

Be knowledgeable of Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver - mission, vision, values

Have a professional manner when speaking to donors on the phone and by email

Comply with all ReStore policies and procedures

Work effectively and sensitively with a diverse group of people

Experience using manual and eclectic pallet jack, sit-down counterbalanced forklift is an asset

QUALIFICATIONS:



A bachelor's degree in business or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in project management, procurement, distribution, planning, and logistics

Progressively responsible management experience in retail operations or customer-facing equivalent; previous multi-unit management preferred.

Proven track record of driving performance, superior customer service, leading change, and organizational growth.

Experience working with thrift store retail a plus.

Previous nonprofit experience preferred, with working knowledge of retail management a plus.

Willingness to learn and knowledge of best practices in sponsorship fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Willingness to work weekends and evenings to support sales and attend meetings or events

Experience using Vonigo or other similar CRM solutions

A valid driver's license and the ability to be approved under the company's insurance policy is required. Experience driving 3-ton and 5-ton commercial vehicles.
