ROLE PURPOSE:



The Procurement & Logistics Supervisor ensures the efficient sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, and logistics coordination of all materials required for production and operations. This role safeguards supply chain continuity, optimizes cost management, and ensures compliance with all food safety, quality, legality, and industry standards, including BRC, Kosher, and Halal certifications. The role also ensures that all practices comply with the Employment Standards Act (Ontario), Human Rights Code, and applicable health and safety legislation.

Supply Chain Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Procurement



Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and cost-effective sourcing. Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity. Actively seek new opportunities to reduce material costs, including evaluating alternative products and reaching out to potential new suppliers Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Operations teams to understand upcoming product launches and ensure timely sourcing of new ingredients, packaging, etc. Negotiate vendor contracts and service agreements in compliance with company and legal standards. Evaluate suppliers for performance, food safety, and compliance with certifications. Maintain accurate purchase records, pricing, and supplier information.

Logistics & Inventory Management



Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials and finished products. Manage freight and transportation providers to achieve cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Monitor inventory levels through ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including MRP/MPS, purchasing, & inventory modules), ensuring real-time accuracy and traceability. Collaborate with Production Planning and Operations to align procurement with forecasted demand.

Compliance & Reporting



Ensure all procurement and logistics activities comply with food safety, quality, BRC, Kosher, Halal, and workplace safety requirements. Support audits and inspections by maintaining proper documentation and records. Prepare reports on cost analysis, vendor performance, and logistics KPIs.

Leadership & Collaboration



Provide supervision and guidance to procurement and logistics staff. Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Quality teams to meet company goals. Actively participate in health & safety programs, JHSC activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills and Abilities:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of procurement and/or logistics experience, preferably in food manufacturing. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred). Knowledge of Ontario ESA, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and Human Rights Code. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Please note that the annual salary is not fixed and can be adjusted for the right candidate.
