Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Correctional Health Services Manager. In this leadership position, you will support, guide, and influence the care provided to patients incarcerated and remanded at the Peace River Correctional Center (PRCC). The Correctional Health Services Manager oversees a multidisciplinary team of nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, addictions counsellors and social workers who support the provision of healthcare, addictions and mental health to a marginalized population. The Peace River Correctional Center is operated by the Correctional Services Division of the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, while AHS provides Healthcare Services within the facility therefor it is important that the Correctional Health Services Manger understands, builds and fosters working relationships between both working groups. In this role, you will provide leadership to staff through collaborative coaching, guiding and modeling key behaviors and strategies, encouraging dialogue and providing guidance and advice to facilitate the best possible patient centered care. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:Reporting to the Director - Correctional Health Services, the Correctional Health Services Manager is responsible for healthcare operations at PRCC. The Manager works both independently and with other stakeholders to provide leadership in the provision of quality healthcare to clients while incarcerated while building and maintaining a liaison with Correctional Officers and community healthcare resources. The PRCC Correctional Health Services Manager plays a key leadership role and is accountable for providing direction of the Correctional Health Services Care team in support of the vision, mission, values, and business plan of AHS. The position makes key decisions and has direct leadership responsibility to the achievement of the goals of the AHS Correctional Health Services Unit. Key responsibilities of this position include; leadership, relationship and change management, resource management (human, material and financial), risk management, and strategic planning. The center offers "in center" healthcare support 16 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in healthcare. Minimum two (2) years recent clinical experience in a management/supervisory role. Working knowledge of the healthcare system. Superior communication and conflict management skills.
Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:Master\'s degree. Experience in Corrections. A strong clinical background in care of marginalized populations.
