Reporting to the Senior Manager, P2P Adoption Projects, the Manager leads and oversees a team in Procurement Process and Technology in Canada to drive adoption of a technology platform, ensuring plans and initiatives are executed / delivered according to business strategies and in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead their team to prepare internal business units for migration of their purchasing process to Scotiabank\'s Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) technology platform (E.g., Coupa). Interacts, communicates, and provides education to suppliers and business-unit representatives to enable them to use Scotiabank\'s P2P platform.
  • Monitor and present reports on KPIs/performance of the P2P process adoption. Sets goals and takes necessary steps to drive actions towards achieving team objectives.
  • Assign work to direct reports while providing them with guidance, coaching, and mentoring to execute on their development plans.
  • Recommend and enable the invoicing approach (i.e., email-invoice submission, cXML, CSV, other) that aligns to the supplier billing capabilities.
  • Interact with business unit employees and suppliers for P2P platform onboarding, catalog set-up, training, and initial purchase-order issuance.
  • Review, approve, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Problem Resolution Procedure (PRP) documentation to ensure data quality, consistent resolution of common problems, and consistent delivery of service by their team according to established Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).
  • Escalate major issues to Sr Manager/Director and presents root-cause-analysis and potential solutions of issues escalated.
  • Understand how the Bank\'s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment where his/her team actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank\'s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We\'d love to work with you if you have:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in related field
  • 4+ years of digital transformation, data analysis, business analysis, business process improvement, project management, and/or business administration.
  • Experience with Coupa (preferred) or any other procurement tool is desired.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Suite - Excel, Word, Power Point etc.
  • Strong, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrated expertise in interacting with all levels of management.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills to develop and maintain effective partnering relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, time management and priority setting skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and initiative, and ability to operate effectively as a team player.
