The Opportunity
This is a highly visible and impactful leadership role for an experienced operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. As the Manager, Operations, you will serve as the senior operational leader on shift, ensuring seamless, safe, and efficient operations across multiple sites.
You will play a critical role in frontline leadership, emergency response, customer experience, labour relations, and operational performance. You will have the opportunity to influence strategy, implement process improvements and service delivery initiatives across a large and complex operation.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for overseeing day-of operations across all revenue channels and facilities while delivering performance results aligned with business and financial targets. Some of your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing 24/7 operational leadership during assigned shifts
  • Leading and supporting frontline operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and consistent service delivery
  • Managing urgent, emergency, and escalated operational issues involving staff, customers, facilities, or property
  • Monitoring and reporting on KPIs, operational performance, and daily business activities
  • Ensuring high standards of appearance, maintenance, safety, and functionality across facilities, vehicles, and equipment
  • Supporting special events, new product rollouts, and service enhancements
  • Driving continuous improvement through operational planning, process development, and change management initiatives
  • Leading staff engagement, coaching, performance management, and labour relations activities within a unionized environment
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, collective agreements, health and safety standards, and internal policies
  • Managing operational resources, including budgets, staffing, and equipment
Please note, this role requires frequent travel between facilities and a hands-on leadership presence in the field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in facilities operations, or a comparable service-based operational environment
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably within a unionized setting
  • Proven experience managing frontline teams, emergency situations, and customer-facing operations
  • Experience with budgeting, performance metrics, and operational reporting
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations
  • Strong working knowledge of employment and labour legislation, including health and safety regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License
Education
A university degree or college diploma in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
